Job Description
Role Context
The Ultra Fresh team is implementing RELEX SaaS as the planning platform for ultra-fresh demand forecasting and replenishment across METRO. The solution supports accurate forecasting, reliable replenishment, strong data quality, improved availability, inventory efficiency, and waste reduction for a strategically important assortment area.
The initial pilot covers Germany, France, and Romania, with further global rollout waves planned afterwards. As Solution Expert – RELEX, you will help build the internal METRO.digital capability in MD GSC India, supporting the transition from project delivery to stable run-mode operations and future rollout execution.
How You Will Make an Impact
You will help METRO establish and grow internal RELEX expertise for Ultra Fresh, ensuring the solution can be operated, supported, and continuously improved beyond the initial pilot. You will also contribute to stable application managed services, rollout readiness, business adoption, and reduced dependency on external partners.
Your Responsibilities
- Act as a functional and solution expert for RELEX, supporting forecasting, replenishment, business rules, dashboards, parameters, user roles, permissions, and operational processes.
- Translate business needs and country-specific requirements into user stories, configuration inputs, test cases, acceptance criteria, and solution documentation.
- Support the setup, validation, and continuous improvement of the RELEX process blueprint, ensuring alignment with METRO business requirements and rollout strategy.
- Configure, validate, and optimize RELEX solution elements such as dashboards, views, parameters, business rules, exports, alerts, and user access settings.
- Support data validation, issue analysis, reprocessing coordination, and operational housekeeping to ensure data integrity across regular processing runs.
- Participate in functional, integration, regression, and user acceptance testing, including scenario definition, result validation, defect documentation, and issue resolution.
- Investigate and resolve specialized incidents within agreed SLAs, especially around RELEX UI, configuration, business rules, parameters, permissions, outputs, and integration flows.
- Coordinate with delivery teams and vendor support on SaaS incidents, interface issues, data load monitoring, batch monitoring, and escalations.
- Support rollout, go-live, hypercare, stabilization, release readiness, and the transition into application managed services and stable run-mode operations.
- Provide training, guidance, knowledge transfer, and documentation to strengthen internal RELEX capability.
- Recommend best practices, harmonization opportunities, and continuous improvements for RELEX operations, support, rollout, and business adoption.
Qualifications
Required Key Competencies and Qualifications
- 6 to 10 years experience
- Proven experience as a Solution Expert, Business Analyst, Functional Consultant, Product Specialist, Tester, Application Support Specialist, or similar role in a technology-driven environment.
- Experience with retail, wholesale, supply chain, demand forecasting, replenishment, inventory management, or enterprise planning systems.
- Understanding of SaaS platforms and the operational model required to run, support, and continuously improve enterprise solutions.
- Experience with functional configuration, requirements clarification, user stories, process documentation, acceptance criteria, test planning, and UAT support.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to investigate data issues, understand process dependencies, structure complex topics, and summarize findings clearly.
- Good testing skills, including functional, regression, and integration testing support, defect documentation, and business scenario validation.
- Ability to work with data flows, operational outputs, and technical teams on data load or interface issues.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, including workshops, presentations, and collaboration with Development, Support, QA, Product, and Business teams.
- Ability to work effectively in a complex, international environment involving multiple countries, external vendors, and distributed teams.
- Strong ownership mindset, structured way of working, attention to detail, and very good fluency in English.
Nice to Have
- Hands-on experience with RELEX Forecasting & Replenishment, RELEX Connect, or similar planning platforms.
- Experience with application managed services, L2 support, hypercare, stabilization, or transition from project delivery to run-mode operations.
- Experience supporting multi-country rollouts or working in a global product organization.
- Knowledge of ITSM processes, incident management, service requests, SLAs, operational reporting, Jira, Confluence, ServiceNow, or monitoring tools.
- Basic database knowledge, SQL understanding, APIs, integrations, batch jobs, or interface troubleshooting experience.
- Understanding of data interfaces, master data, transactional data, batch runs, reprocessing, and operational monitoring.
