About the Role:
We are seeking a meticulous and experienced Record to Report (R2R) Specialist to join our finance team in the wholesale sector. The selected candidate will be entrusted with ensuring precise and punctual financial closing, reporting, and compliance across our retail and wholesale operations. This position demands a comprehensive understanding of accounting principles, retail/wholesale business processes, and advanced proficiency in financial systems.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee and execute the comprehensive Record to Report process, encompassing general ledger accounting, journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial close activities.
Ensure strict adherence to monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial closing processes in accordance with statutory and internal deadlines.
Conduct thorough analysis of retail/wholesale financial data, including sales, inventory, cost of goods sold (COGS), and vendor transactions to guarantee completeness and accuracy.
Perform rigorous account reconciliations, including intercompany transactions, accruals, prepaid expenses, and fixed assets.
Meticulously prepare and review balance sheet and P&L account analyses, ensuring proper accounting treatment of retail-specific transactions such as discounts, returns, and promotions.
Provide comprehensive support for internal and external audits by furnishing detailed documentation and explanations of financial transactions and controls.
Engage in critical collaboration with wholesale operations, procurement, and inventory teams to ensure precise recording of transactions and swift resolution of discrepancies.
Proactively identify and implement process improvements and automation opportunities within the R2R cycle to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Maintain unwavering compliance with accounting standards (IFRS) and company policies.
Contribute to the preparation of management reports, financial statements, and other ad hoc analyses as mandated by senior leadership.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (CMA/CA strongly preferred).
Minimum of 10 years of experience in Record to Report or financial accounting, with a particular emphasis on retail or wholesale industries.
Comprehensive knowledge of retail/wholesale financial processes, including inventory accounting, COGS, and revenue recognition.
Expert-level proficiency in ERP and financial reporting systems (e.g., SAP, Tagetik).
Advanced Excel skills and demonstrated ability in complex data analysis.
In-depth knowledge of IFRS and relevant tax regulations.
Exceptional analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Superior communication skills and proven ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
