Ultra Fresh Technical Consultant
Role Context
The Ultra Fresh team is implementing RELEX SaaS as the planning platform for ultra-fresh demand forecasting and replenishment. The Technical Consultant will be part of the implementation team responsible for building, configuring, integrating, testing, and supporting the technical capabilities needed to connect METRO systems with RELEX and enable reliable business operations.
This role focuses on hands-on delivery across APIs, integrations, data flows, cloud services, deployment pipelines, monitoring, troubleshooting, and technical documentation. The Technical Consultant will work closely with Product, Business, Architecture, Engineering, RELEX, Accenture, and internal platform teams to translate implementation requirements into maintainable technical solutions.
The position is expected to support the project from build and test phases through rollout, go-live, hypercare, and stable run-mode operations, ensuring that interfaces, environments, deployments, and support processes are reliable, scalable, observable, and aligned with METRO engineering standards.
Key Responsibilities
Core Responsibilities (Mandatory)
- Develop and consume/expose REST APIs, custom services, OData services, and Data Entities.
- Collaborate with product managers, business stakeholders, and application owners to understand requirements and deliver technical solutions.
- Ensure adherence to development, best practices with a focus on performance, maintainability, scalability, and security.
- Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve technical issues in development, test, and production environments.
- Participate in code reviews, testing, deployment activities, and release management.
- Prepare technical documentation and communicate relevant system changes to business users and stakeholders.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external service providers to deliver and support solutions.

- Support environment management and deployments through Lifecycle Services (LCS).
- Assist with One Version updates, release validation, and platform maintenance activities.
- Design and implement Azure Logic Apps and other Azure-based integration services.
- Support user access management, security roles, and compliance requirements
- Contribute to CI/CD pipeline setup and deployment automation
Qualifications
Required Technical Competencies
Mandatory
- Experience : 7yrs - 10 yrs
- Programming Languages: Java,SQL, PL/SQL
- Frameworks & Libraries: Spring Boot, Swagger/OpenAPI, RESTful APIs
- Databases & Data Platforms: PostgreSQL, Oracle (PL/SQL), Cloud SQL, BigQuery
- Cloud, DevOps & Observability: Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Kubernetes, Docker, Harbor, GitHub, GitHub Actions (CI/CD), WaaS 3, SOPS, SonarQube, DataDog
- Messaging & Integration: Kafka, Pup/Sub
- Testing & Quality: JUnit, Mockito, JMeter
- Experience developing and consuming REST APIs, custom APIs, and web services.
- Experience with Microsoft Azure services and integration technologies.
- Knowledge of Visual Studio, Azure DevOps, source control, and deployment processes.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a global and cross-functional environment.
- Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Lifecycle Services (LCS) administration and environment management.
- Experience with Azure Logic Apps, Azure Functions, Service Bus, and integration patterns.
- Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment processes.
- Experience supporting One Version updates and release management activities.
